Remember that extreme Alfa Romeo 4C "Green Arrow" Pogea Racing revealed in August 2018? Well, the German firm has now upped the ante, lifting the wraps off its latest 4C-based project. Dubbed "Zeus", this modified version is lighter and more powerful than before, and will be offered in limited numbers.

The 4C's 1,75-litre turbopetrol engine has been equipped with the tuner's "third expansion stage" performance upgrade, which include modifications to the turbochargers, high-pressure pump and injectors. Ceramic clutch discs and a Monster exhaust system have been added, too.

The uprated four-cylinder produces a whopping 258 kW and 458 N.m of torque (up from the standard 177 kW and 350 N.m). Pogea has also increased the power-to-weight ratio; thanks to extensive use of carbon-fibre, the Coupé now weighs 100 kg less. The Friedrichshafen-based company claims a 0-100 km/h time of 3,4 seconds (1,43 seconds quicker than the standard model) and a top speed of 304 km/h.

Pogea's V23 coilover suspension by KW has been fitted and allows the 4C to be lowered by up to 50 mm. The 18-inch alloys up front and 19-inch items at the rear are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S rubber (225/40 fore and 265/35 aft).

New exterior features include a revised front apron, replete with an extended splitter, and redesigned side skirts. At the rear, a "scoop" structure replaces the rear window to optimise air flow to the engine compartment. An updated rear apron and diffuser add to the car's dynamic looks.

The cabin can be trimmed in Alcantara or two-tone, blue-and-orange leather. A new sport steering wheel and sports seats, with increased lateral support, can are found inside.

Three of the 10 units have already been sold, with each costing €50 100 (around R790 000 in our money) on top of the standard car's (in coupé guise) list price (which here in South Africa is R1 173 900)...
