Volkswagen has quietly released a couple of fresh teaser sketches of its upcoming Golf 8, giving us another look at the hatchback's exterior styling as well as a glimpse of the cabin design.

The first sketch provides us with a good idea of the eighth-generation hatch’s exterior styling (is that the GTI depicted?), even if largely undisguised prototypes have already been spotted out in the wild. Still, expect the impossible large alloys and dramatically sloping roofline to be ditched when the production model is fully revealed.

Perhaps more interesting is the second sketch, which shows the Golf 8’s cabin layout. While the image isn’t quite as detailed as we might have hoped (nor exactly high-resolution), it does suggest the hatch with drop a number of physical buttons in favour of touchscreen controls (even the traditional temperature controls appear to have been replaced by a touch-sensitive slider).

This second sketch furthermore shows the latest iteration of the VW Group’s digital instrument cluster, as well as some sort of new display alongside it (behind the steering wheel, which itself plays host to a number of buttons).

After a delay seemingly caused by pesky software glitches, the new VW Golf 8 is expected to be revealed in October...
