Well, this is an interesting one. The studious folks over at CarWow have lined up the Audi SQ2, BMW X2 M35i and Volkswagen T-Roc R for a drag race.

As you might expect, it’s quite a close battle as the three contenders are very evenly matched, each employing a turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine driving all four wheels.

For the record, Ingolstadt’s SQ2 generates 221 kW and 400 N.m, figures matched by Wolfsburg’s R-badged T-Roc (the pair are VW Group siblings, after all). Munich’s X2 M35i, meanwhile, makes 225 kW and 450 N.m, though it uses an eight-speed torque-converter transmission rather than a seven-speed dual-clutch ‘box like its rivals.
