Yes, it’s another CarWow drag race, this time featuring four front-wheel-drive hot hatches each packing a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine.

Shall we meet the contenders? Well, first we have the Honda Civic Type R, which boasts 228 kW from its 2,0-litre unit and employs a six-speed manual gearbox. Next is the new two-seater Mini JCW GP, which makes 225 kW from a similar capacity but uses an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Interestingly, the final two competitors (each using a six-speed manual cog-swapper) in this drag race aren’t quite stock. Indeed, the 2,0-litre Hyundai i30 featured here has been boosted from the factory 202 kW to 239 kW, while the Mountune-fettled Ford Focus ST's 2,3-litre engine now makes 243 kW (up from the standard 206 kW).
