Another day, another drag race. This time, CarWow lines up the Audi RS4 Avant and the BMW M340i xDrive, the latter in Touring guise.

 

Doesn’t seem like an entirely fair fight, does it?

 

While the Ingolstadt-based’s firm’s RS4 Avant makes 331 kW and 600 N.m from its twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 heart, the Munich-based company’s M340i xDrive offers 275 kW (though in some markets that figure has quietly increased to 285 kW) and 500 N.m from its turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six.

 

Still, as we’ve seen in earlier races, the petrol-powered M Performance version of BMW’s G20-generation 3 Series seems to punch a little above its weight.
