The folks over at Lovecars have lined up two 331 kW performance cars for a drag race: the BMW M2 CS and the Audi RS4 Avant.

While they share a peak power output, these two German contenders are very different vehicles, with the limited-edition, track-ready M2 CS featuring a coupé body style and the more practical RS4 Avant offered exclusively in four-door wagon form.

Furthermore, the BMW’s turbocharged 3,0-litre straight-six engine sends its urge to the rear axle, while the Audi’s turbocharged 2,9-litre V6 powers all four wheels.

Oh, and in this case, the M2 CS is fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox (a seven-speed M-DCT is also offered), while the RS4 benefits from an eight-speed automatic transmission. Still, the Munich-based firm’s little coupé is almost 200 kg lighter than its foe.
