The Fiesta's fun, young image and proven solidity have ensured that the little hatchback has become a regular sight on our roads. With DNA determined by its trendy big brother Focus the Fiesta is now being primed for its mid-life transformation.

The changes to the current winning formula are mainly cosmetic, with the most dramatic change being the redesigned dash. Completely new, it is constructed from softer materials, and several new functions and features have been added to the new central control panel.

Other visible changes are at the front of the car where the grille adopts chic chrome detailing and a more clearly defined front light cluster. At the rear, a new spoiler reinforces the car's sporty look, while the vertical light strip has been made more distinctive with rounded edges and circular inserts.

The engine line-up will remain unchanged.

"The revised Fiesta was meant to be launched at the end of November, but production delays in Europe have forced us to delay the car's launch until the beginning of next year," a Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa representative said.
