Audi has released the first official images of its upcoming e-tron's cabin, which boasts as many as five display screens. While the Ingolstadt-based automaker still technically describes the vehicle as a "prototype", it's surely close to the production model, which is expected to be unveiled at the end of August 2018.

The three primary screens in the e-tron are the virtual cockpit, an infotainment display and one for the climate control. The other two (seven-inch OLED) displays are found on the driver and passenger doors, and are connected to cameras that replace the side mirrors. Audi has already confirmed that these "virtual" side mirrors will be optional, although it remains to be seen in which markets they will be deemed legal.

The cabin furthermore features a Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system, which boasts 16 speakers and a 705 watt amplifier.

In terms of materials, the e-tron employs Valcona leather with yellow contrast stitching, as well as plenty of dark brushed aluminium trim. Options inside include orange contrast stitching and orange piping, while ambient lighting will also be offered.

Audi has furthermore confirmed that the electric vehicle will boast a wheelbase of 2 928 mm, providing "ample space for five occupants and their bags".
