Fiat Chrysler Automobiles South Africa has announced the appointment of Graham Eagle, former Honda Motor Southern Africa vice president for operations, as its new chief executive officer.

Eagle moves into the CEO role to replace Robin van Rensburg, who FCA SA says has resigned to “pursue other opportunities”.

“I am excited to be joining the FCA family and I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience in the FCA environment, elevating the brands to greater heights,” said Eagle.

Eagle is well known in the local automotive industry, where he has built up some 40 years of experience with the likes of Nissan and Honda.

Having started his career as a project engineer at the Nissan Group, Eagle joined Honda Motors Southern Africa in the role of divisional manager for automobiles in 2001, a position he held for four years before being promoted to the role of general manager for sales and marketing.

In 2009, he was appointed director of sales and marketing, before taking the role of director of operations some five years later. In 2016, Eagle was named vice president for Southern Africa operations.

Earlier in July 2018, FCA SA announced the appointment of Juan Wheeler as its new chief financial officer and Daniell Theron as its new head of network development.
