The head of Hyundai’s N division has revealed that the Korean automaker will soon start rolling out optional “N Sport” packages for various standard models.

According to CarAdvice, Albert Biermann said that the packages would include handling upgrades (with the addition of sportier suspension) as well as styling tweaks. The report added that the Tucson, new Veloster and Kona would likely be the first models to benefit, while the i30 also seems a likely candidate.

“We will also offer N Sport packages to base cars, but not only trim, the suspension and so on. We will start at the end of this year,” Biermann told the Australian publication.

“The powertrain side we will pretty much stick to the normal line-up, but everything else ,” he said, before clarifying that there would be no need to uprated braking systems.

“If you don’t add the power we don’t need the brakes… but also the driving experience, steering, suspension, transmission; you know, this is where we want to give more response and precision in the driving experience, not on the N level, but something in between,” he added.

Likely to bear the “N Sport” badge, the packages would be similar in execution to Audi’s S line, BMW’s M Sport trim and Mercedes-Benz’s AMG Line offerings.
