Reports out of France suggest the Volkswagen brand will skip the 2020 Paris Motor Show, with a high-ranking executive saying there is “no plan to do it this year”.

According to Motor1.com, which cited several French publications, Jürgen Stackmann, member of the board of management at the Volkswagen brand responsible for sales, marketing and after sales, broke the news at a roundtable with journalists.

When asked whether the VW brand was preparing to showcase its wares at the Paris event in October 2020, Stackmann said: “Probably not. There is no plan to do it this year”.

Lamborghini, which also falls under the Volkswagen Group umbrella, recently announced it would not attend the Geneva Motor Show in March, while Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have all reportedly pulled out of April’s New York International Auto Show.
