Haval has released the first official (though shadowy) images of an upcoming SUV featuring the sort of boxy proportions we’re expecting to see on Ford’s new Bronco.
While we know very little about the Chinese firm’s unnamed upcoming SUV (the firm’s Chinese website lists it simply as “new SUV”), the images suggest it will feature an interesting mix of retro and modern design cues.
Up front, you’ll notice the circular headlamps, large grille and skid plate, while a look at the profile reveals squared-off wheel arches, decent ground clearance and usefully short overhangs. Round back, the newcomer features distinctive LED taillamps.
Reports out of Haval’s domestic market claim the new model is codenamed “B06”, rides on the brand’s latest platform, was penned by former Land Rover designer Phil Simmons and will start a new model series (thus not adopting the “H” prefix).
