Audi has taken the wraps off its facelifted RS5 Coupé and RS5 Sportback, handing both high-performance variants fresh exterior styling and new infotainment systems.

Under the bonnet, the twin-turbo 2,9-litre V6 is unchanged, still offering its TFSI-flavoured 331 kW and 600 N.m to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission and facilitating a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in a claimed 3,9 seconds.

Revisions to the exterior styling are quite marked, dominated by a wider and flatter grille and the addition of "implied” air vents above said grille. The wheel arches, meanwhile, are some 40 mm wider than before, while the optional matrix LED headlamps now feature darkened bezels. Furthermore, the air inlets have been given a new pentagonal shape.

Audi says the side-sills and rear diffuser insert have also been redesigned, with gloss black, matte aluminium and carbon styling packages available to give the various body attachments an “even more individual” look. The signature four rings and RS logos can also be specified in black, while Turbo Blue and Tango Red have been added to the paint colour palette.

Inside, you’ll now find the Ingolstadt-based firm’s latest 10,1-inch MMI touch display, complete with acoustic feedback. There’s also the optional Audi virtual cockpit plus with its 12,3-inch display as well as an optional head-up display with special RS graphics.

The revised RS5 twins ship standard on 19-inch wheels, although new 20-inch items will be optionally available in three designs. Audi will furthermore offer carbon-fibre ceramic brake disks for the front axle, with callipers painted in grey, red or blue.
