Mercedes-Benz has completed its E-Class range with the unveiling of this new cabriolet.

The newcomer joins the estate, coupé and sedan in the line-up. Like the other drop-tops from the Stuttgart-based brand, the E-Class Cabriolet features a soft roof and an array of options to make it comfortable, no matter the weather.

Options such as the Airscarf, Aircap and air body control can all be selected in this Benz, depending on what level of comfort you're looking for. Certain derivatives can furthermore be specified with 4Matic all-wheel drive and the 9G-Tronic transmission.

It’s worth noting that the S-Class Cabriolet is also available with 4Matic in international markets, but not here in South Africa.

To compensate for the loss of rigidity that comes with lopping off the roof, Mercedes-Benz has stiffened the aluminium and sheet steel body shell structures. It has also implemented a rollover protection system and an array of airbags.

Mercedes says there will be a special model celebrating the 25th anniversary of the W124 300CE-24 Cabriolet as well. This model will sport a set of exclusive "25th Anniversary" edition 20-inch, five-twin-spoke alloy wheels, a cabriolet comfort package, elm-wood interior trim, interior fragrance and a special set of floor mats commemorating the classic Cabriolet.
