Back in May 2020, we reported Hyundai Automotive South Africa had quietly added three new “Limited Edition” models to its range. And now the newcomers have been officially launched.

Just 500 units will be offered. Interestingly, pricing has increased slightly since we initially uncovered the new models. As it stands, the Venue 1,0 TGDi Fluid Limited Edition will cost you R328 900 in manual form R360 500 in dual-clutch form. The flagship Venue 1,0 TGDi Glide Limited Edition, meanwhile, is priced at R385 900.

Interestingly, the Limited Edition package will effectively cost you R4 400 in the case of the Fluid manual derivative and R5 000 in the case of the DCT-equipped Fluid variant. On the flagship Glide, though, the Limited Edition model is listed for exactly the same price as the model on which it is based.

So, what exactly do you get for the extra cash? Well, Limited Edition models gain a two-tone exterior colour treatment (white for the roof and blue for the body) as well as a bespoke interior treatment. The latter combines a beige colour scheme with denim cloth and leather. Judging by the images, a "Limited Edition" badge has also been added to the tailgate.

As a reminder, power comes from the firm’s turbocharged 1,0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine, which offers 88 kW at 6 000 r/min and 172 N.m from 1 500 to 4 000 r/min. Sipping from a 45-litre petrol tank, the Venue will consume 6,5 L/100 km in six-speed manual guise and 6,9 L/100 km in seven-speed dual-clutch form, says Hyundai.

“The Venue was very well received in South Africa since its launch, and the Limited Edition adds a little more pizazz to the range for customers who are shopping for a small SUV with a stylish exterior, outstanding comfort and convenience levels and a powerful and very efficient turbocharged engine,” said Stanley Anderson, sales and operations director of Hyundai Automotive SA.

As with other Venue derivatives, the new models ship standard with the Korean firm’s seven-year/200 000 km warranty as well as a three-year/45 000 km service plan.
