Lexus has revealed its new J201 concept, a supercharged off-roader based on the LX570 (which itself is effectively a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 underneath).

Built in conjunction with Expedition Overland, the J201 concept boasts a number of robust suspension and equipment upgrades. Some extra oomph has been extracted from the engine, too.

The Japanese off-roader has been fitted with 4,30 Nitro Gears performance differentials at the front and rear together with a set of ARB air lockers. These are joined by stronger front-upper and rear-lower control arms. Front and rear spacers have been attached to the wheels to widen the track, too.

StopTech drilled front and rear discs plus Super Sport Performance pads have been added to the braking system for improved stopping power. A set of 285/70 R17 General Grabber X3 tyres with Evo Corse DakarZero wheels connects the overlander to the gravel.

The 3UR-FE 5,7-litre V8 that sits at the helm has been equipped with a Magnuson supercharcher, which brings the power up from 286 kW and 546 N.m of torque to 410 kW and 746 N.m. A TJM Airtec snorkel ensures uninterrupted airflow to the engine when wading through water.

The J201 has also been fitted with items such as a Prinsu Design roof rack system with Maxtrax storage and scene lighting, a CBI Offroad rear bumper system that houses a rear ladder and spare tyre, and a Goose Gear drawer module with a set of dog bowls, a Warn Epic recovery kit and two storage drawers.

CBI Offroad has also provided protection plates for the front, transfer case and fuel tank, a set of rocker sliders and a front bumper with a Wart Zeon 10-S winch and recovery points. Additional lighting is sourced from Rigid Industries in the form of a 1 016 mm Midnight Edition SR-Series Pro light bar.

An ARB Linx accessory interface has been installed to manage the lighting, air lockers and an on-board “Slee” off-road compressor.
