Porsche recently took the covers off its Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and the world seemed quite impressed with its 340 kW power output. But now the high-end German performance manufacturer has taken its luxury saloon one step further and added this hybrid system to its Turbo S variant.

And, this hybrid tech in conjunction with the turbocharged 4,0-litre V8 allows the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid to serve up a whopping 500 kW and 850 N.m of torque. The results are a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 3,4 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h.

Power is delivered to all four wheels through the brand's eight-speed PDK transmission, while an electric clutch actuator services the 100 kW electric motors. Air suspension is a standard feature on this model.

From an economy point of view, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid boasts a claimed average fuel consumption of just 2,9 L/100 km and can run in EV mode for up to 50 km. The battery, meanwhile, can be fully recharged in a claimed 2,4 hours.

The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will debut in Geneva in March, before being launched globally in the second quarter of this year ... with ceramic composite brakes, dynamic chassis control, torque vectoring and progressive steering as standard equipment.

Germans will be paying around R2,5-million for this super saloon, while local pricing has yet to be announced.
