Suzuki's popular compact crossover, the Vitara, has been granted a UK-market update for 2019. These changes include both visual and technical upgrades, as well as a revised engine line-up.

In international markets the Vitara will source power from either the  brand's new 1,0-litre three-cylinder or 1,4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged BoosterJet engine. The 103 kW/220 N.m 1,4-litre replacing the previous naturally aspirated 1,6-litre option in the lineup.

Visually the updated Vitara gains a new grille, including fog lamp and scuff plate execution. New LED head- and taillamps are also included. Of the interior changes, a new soft touch material for the upper facia and a new instrument cluster with an LCD information display stand out.

The 2019 model also gets an array of new safety features including as dual sensor brake support, lane departure warning and intervention, traffic sign recognition, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

Suzuki SA has told us that the updated model is expected reach our roads by the first quarter of next year.
