Peugeot South Africa has again tinkered with its 3008 line-up, this time scrapping two derivatives to trim the local range from seven to five variants.

The news comes after the French brand’s local distributors earlier in 2018 added a pair of diesel models to the line-up, before quickly revising pricing for these oil-burners.

In this latest range tweak, the Allure+ and GT Line+ derivatives fall away (interestingly, the flagship 2008 GT Line+ has also been culled from the range below).

The 3008 Allure+ had been priced at R479 900, while the GT Line+ was the flagship at R584 900. Both were powered by Peugeot’s turbocharged 1,6-litre petrol engine (worth 121 kW and 240 N.m) mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Compared with the standard Allure model, the Allure+ variant gained a smattering of added standard equipment, such as the brand’s “Advanced Grip Control” and a black roof. The GT Line+ derivative, meanwhile, featured items such as a panoramic sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery and a handful of advanced safety systems (emergency braking, front collision warning and blind-spot detection).

The demise of the GT Line+ model means the 3008 line-up now tops out at R519 900 for the 1,6T GT-Line (read our full road test here). Check out the revised range below…
