A digital artist has created renders depicting the new Hyundai Elantra in full-fat N guise, effectively handing the i30 N hot hatch a virtual sibling.

Of course, based on an earlier report out of South Korea, there’s every chance the Elantra N will see the light of day as a production model.

Russian artist Aksyonov Nikita produced the renders, showing what he thinks the rumoured high-performance sedan will look like. He’s added new alloy wheels (framing large Brembo- rather than N-branded red brake callipers), a bespoke exterior paint colour and an aggressive body kit that includes chunky side-skirts and a protruding front lip.

In addition, Nikita has tweaked the front bumper design (and incorporated fresh foglamps), while changes round back include a revised bumper and a diffuser housing a pair of large-diameter tailpipes, as well as a triangular foglamp similar to that seen on the i30 N Fastback. And, of course, the requisite “N” badging.

The aforementioned report suggested the recently revealed seventh-generation Elantra will eventually be offered in N guise, employing the same turbocharged 2,0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine as the i30 N hot hatch.

While this unit is expected to offer an unchanged 202 kW to the front axle, the rumoured new four-door performance sedan variant (which would wear the Avante N nameplate in its domestic market) is likely to be available with either a six-speed manual gearbox or an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (the latter would then be rolled out to the i30 N at its upcoming facelift).
