I think we can all agree that this should be considered as an improvement in terms of design. This is the new Nissan Micra and it comes equipped with a fresh look and some new engine options.

The redesign makes use of Nissan's current philosophy. Look closely and you will find the V-motion grill, boomerang-shaped head- and taillamps, floating roof c-pillar and hidden rear door handles. It also has an impressive Cd of 0,29.

The interior has been given a careful run-through as well. The driving position has been lowered to make it feel more dynamic while the wheelbase and width has been increased to make it more spacious.

The interior now include a 7,0-inch touchscreen infotainment system loaded with MultiLink. An optional extra Bose audio system also places some speakers into the headrests to provide a 3D listening experience.

Nissan's safety shield pack is now available as an option which fits the Micra with blind-spot indication, lane departure intervention and traffic sign recognition among other things.

The Micra will be fitted with either a turbocharged 0,9-litre three-cylinder engine or a 1,5-litre diesel, both of which will develop 67 kW to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.

A 54 kW naturally aspirated 1,0-litre engine is said to join the range at a later stage.

The new Micra will be built in Renault's plant in France. European markets will have access to it at the beginning of the second quarter, next year.
