The long-awaited Honda Civic Type R not only got its public unveiling in Geneva, but it has also set a lap record for front-wheel-drive cars at the Nürburgring.

The turbocharged 228 kW 2,0-litre Civic Type R lapped the ‘Ring’s Nordschleife in 7:50.63, beating 7:54.36 time set by Renault’s 205 kW Megane RS 275 Trophy R in set 2014.
