Think your Ford Ranger is the business? Well, you ain't seen noting yet, partner. Meet the VelociRaptor 6x6, a brutal bakkie from the folks over at Hennessey Performance Engineering.

The six-wheeled truck is based on 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor, and Hennessey says the upgrade will cost you "from $295 000" (that's a smidgen over R4-million, if you're counting).

That fairly hefty chunk of change includes the base four-door bakkie, the 6x6 locking rear axles, an upgraded Fox suspension, new 20-inch wheels (and off-road tyres, naturally), bespoke front and rear bumpers, a rollbar and some LED lights.

Also on offer is a performance kit for the 3,5-litre EcoBoost V6 that includes upgraded twin turbochargers, stainless steel exhaust modifications, upgraded front-mounted air-to-air intercooler and plumbing, and the requisite ECU tuning (which results in around 450 kW).

If you've still not splashed enough cash, Hennessey will sell you Brembo brakes, even larger wheels and tyres, yet more LED lighting upgrades, a bespoke interior, electronic upgrades and even something it calls "armouring systems" (should you be planning to, you know, take part in some sort of war).

"Our VelociRaptor 6x6 is pure aggression on wheels – all six of them," said Hennessey.

"The new 2017 Raptor is going to be one of the best all-around trucks ever built. We are excited to help take it to the next level both in terms of performance and exclusivity," the tuner added.

Hennessey says the VelociRaptor 6x6 can be ordered directly from Hennessey Performance or through select Hennessey/Ford dealers in the US.

There's just one question left to ask: this or the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6×6?
