In November, Mercedes-Benz revealed the first interior images of the next-generation A-Class. And now the Stuttgart-based brand has announced that it will debut a “completely new infotainment system” at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January 2018.

Called the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (or “MBUX” for short), the automaker says its new system features “innovative technology based on artificial intelligence” and an “intuitive operating system”. It will presumably replace the current Comand infotainment system.

Interestingly, Mercedes says this technology will be introduced as standard equipment in the next compact car generation, "from as early as 2018".

The brand has revealed little else about its fresh infotainment system. We do know, however, that the facia in the upcoming A-Class will be divided into two three-dimensional, horizontal sections, with a free-standing widescreen display set to be available in three versions: with two 7-inch, one 7-inch and one 10,25-inch or two 10,25-inch displays.

We’ll have to wait for the second week of January to learn more…
