The Suzuki Swift has always been a popular choice in the supermini segment and it’s not surprising that the 2017 model is being eagerly awaited.

A front three-quarter view of the next-generation Swift was leaked on by Ferd Fan Page on Facebook yesterday and looks to offer more aggressive styling compared to the current model.

The leaked image shows Suzuki adopting a more angular front bumper and a lower apron. A new single-frame grill features, similar to the Hyundai i20’s. The headlamps look to be slimmer too, featuring LED accents.

Blacked out A- and B-pillars have been a trademark of the Swift since the 2003 model, and they feature again on the new one. Though, it looks like the C-pillar may also be blacked out, creating a “floating” roof design that’s all the rage these days.

The Swift is likely to be offered with a naturally-aspirated 1,2-litre engine as well as a turbocharged 1,0-litre, and will possibly ride on the same platform as the recently introduced Suzuki Baleno.

Expect the new, fifth-generation Swift to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2017.
