Peugeot's new crossover has quietly landed in South Africa and we have managed to source local pricing for the range. The 3008 will feature three trim levels, but just one engine and transmission combination.

The entry-level derivative is the 3008 Active, which features standard equipment such as automatic headlamps (with LED daytime running lights), rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, active emergency braking and rear parking sensors.

The mid-range model, titled the Allure, adds the i-Cockpit amplified, keyless entry with push-start ignition, an infotainment system and front park assist (the Allure+, meanwhile, gains an Advanced Grip Control system and black roof).

GT-Line models furthermore feature LED "Lion" projection headlamps, wireless smartphone charging, satellite navigation and leather upholstery. The GT-Line+ models, meanwhile, boast a panoramic sunroof and an array of safety assistance features.

All models employ the brand's 1,6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which transfers 121 kW and 240 N.m of torque to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. This gives it a claimed 0-100 km/h time of 8,9 seconds and a top speed of 201 km/h.
