By now, you would probably have had a closer look at local pricing for the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class. And you might also have seen our configurator story showing just how expensive buyers can spec this new double-cab bakkie in South Africa.

However, in the latter article, we specifically excluded all accessories, instead focusing on the Stuttgart-based brand’s actual options list. So, here we take a look at the extensive range of accessories – developed by Mercedes-Benz’s in-house designers and developers – offered in South Africa.

Easily the most expensive of the bunch is the full canopy with roof rails, which is priced at R65 147. The aluminium roll-cover, meanwhile, comes in at R31 195, with a hard-cover costing R28 827. And the cheapest approved accessory? That’d be the velour mats for the rear, priced at R776.

Interestingly, the local arm of the German brand also offers a number of accessory packs, each containing a bundle of individual items.
