Porsche South Africa has released local pricing for the recently revealed flagship of the refreshed Panamera range, the 514 kW Turbo S E-Hybrid.

Interestingly, only the standard saloon body style of the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is listed on Porsche SA’s website at the moment, with no sign yet of the Sport Turismo or long-wheelbase Executive derivatives of this model.

So, how much are you looking at here? Well, pricing starts at R3 449 000 (or R3 499 000 with the standard three-year Driveplan upgraded to five years), making it a little more expensive than the 463 kW Turbo S (which starts at R3 253 000). Interestingly, that’s the same price as the less powerful pre-facelift version.

As a reminder, the updated Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid combines a 420 kW twin-turbo 4,0-litre V8 with a 100 kW electric motor (the latter integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission) for total system outputs of 514 kW and 870 N.m.

The hybrid model’s all-electric range has furthermore been increased by some 30 percent to a claimed 50 km thanks to the fitment of a new 17,9 kWh battery (up from the previous 14,1 kWh version) and “optimised” driving modes (an update that also applies to the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid).

The latest Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid completes the sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in a claimed 3,2 seconds, or some two-tenths faster than its predecessor. It tops out at a heady 315 km/h, an improvement of 5 km/h.
