With the Volkswagen Polo likely due a facelift in the relatively near future, a digital artist has created renders showing how the popular hatchback would look with a front end inspired by the Golf 8.

Shared by the folks over at @brazilautomotive on Instagram, the single image shows the Polo sporting a Golf 8 face.

From what we can tell, the digital artist made no changes to the hatchback’s flanks, preferring to concentrate on the front end. Indeed, the imagined Polo gains the latest Golf’s headlamps, narrow grille and gaping lower air intakes.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen renders looking ahead to the Polo’s mid-cycle refresh. In June 2020, for instance, another Brazilian digital designer handed the hatchback front and rear ends inspired by the Nivus.

The sixth-generation Polo hatchback – which is built at Uitenhage here in South Africa – was unveiled in June 2017, suggesting a facelift will be on the cards within a couple of years.
