The battle for the title of South Africa's best-selling bakkie continues. So, what happened with July's sales?

We've already reported that new vehicle sales in South Africa plummeted some 17,0% to 44 883 units in July 2016.

And we've also taken a look at the individual figures released by the National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa (Naamsa), picking out the 10 best-selling passenger cars for the month.

Now, we're turning our attention to the light commercial segment, and have identified the 10 best-selling bakkies of July 2016.

The Toyota Hilux pulled away from the second-placed Ford Ranger in July, opening up the gap to 848 units. The Isuzu KB, meanwhile, climbed one place to third.

The Chevrolet Utility also moved up one spot to fourth, which saw the Nissan NP200 fall two places to fifth. The Nissan NP300, meanwhile, held steady in sixth, and the Volkswagen Amarok squeezed past the Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up to claim seventh.

The Nissan Navara returned to the table to snaffle ninth, while the Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up again ended up in tenth. That means there's no space for the new Fiat Fullback (36), Mazda BT-50 (66) or Mahindra Bolero (69). Interestingly, the Mitsubishi Triton is no longer listed.

See the top ten list below, and have a look at June's figures here.
